Not everyone must have a college degree and not everyone can be an architect

I have decided for a brief moment to move away from enterprise architecture and transfer into the field of solution architecture. Why? It is common to misunderstand not only the role of an enterprise architect but also the role of a solution architect.  People who fill these two roles must closely cooperate with each other. That is why, it is necessary to understand mutual responsibilities.

Not everyone can be a painter. Not everyone will be a composer.  Not everyone can be a civil architect. The same concerns architects from the IT field, both solution architects and enterprise architects.  I recommend watching the video below and pondering if you understand the role of a solution architect in the same way as  Micheal Stiefel understands it.

InfoQ: Architects? We Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Architects!

From my side I would just like to add to the presentation a few skills which a solution architect or an enterprise architect is expected to have.  These are:  working independently, working in a team, working with team and team leadership. These necessary skills are not mentioned in this presentation.
